17th century parish marriage act in Latin from Trentino-Alto Adige

Post by rfiorille »

I would greatly appreciate help obtaining information regarding the parents of the bride and groom for the marriage of Joannes Magnani and Ursula Graziano, 14 February 1638 (second entry on page).

Thank you!

I was able to figure out the act above. I now have another one.

Attached is the marriage act (second on the page) for Baldassare Torra and Maria Bronzini on 28 April 1627. I'm having difficulty deciphering the names of the bride's and groom's fathers. I see "Baldassar filius Simeonis de Turris de Turio" and "Maria filia Salvatorii de Bronzinis ??? ??? de Turris."

Is the groom's father Simeon or Simone?
Is there more information about the bride's father? Is his name Salavatore?

I've also attached the index entry. I'm seeing the bride's last name as Bronzini.

Is the groom's father Simeon or Simone? I'd say Simeone
Is there more information about the bride's father? Is his name Salvatore?

I've also attached the index entry. I'm seeing the bride's last name as Bronzini.

Thank you Pippo.

I know it's hard to be certain with these older records, but does this record seem to indicate that Baldassare's father is still living at this time? Otherwise it might read quondam, q.m, q or some abbreviation of quondam, yes? I do see usage of "quondam" in records in close proximity to this one.

This record just says f(ilius)s, so, we can suppose he was living.

I like the certainty in your tone :) There is a Simone Torra who died in 1630, three years after this marriage, and another Simone Torra who died in 1648. My feeling is that these are the two Simone Torra on the marriage record, the one who died in 1630, most likely the father. I agree with you that the father's name written on the marriage record looks like Simeone, but I think the death record lends to the likelihood that the name is Simone. I have not found a Simeone Torra among the records. Thanks again for the help!
