Registered Squille 3 January 1838

Marcellino Baldino, 40 yo, contadino, and Pasqualantonio della Rocca, 36 yo, contadino, both living in Squille, Strada Tassoni, reported that on 3 January 1838, 6 pm, Nicola Marotta died in his own home. He was born and living in Squille, a massaro (farm manager), the son of the deceased Antonio Marotta and of the deceased Mariantonia Aldi.

Angela, thank you very much for the translation. Is there any mention of Nicola's age? Would his wife be listed on the death record if he were married?

Thanks again Angela.

Are there any Italian records that go back to the late 1700's?

There might be Church Records, but they would be in Latin. My Italian records start at about 1809, and I've manged to go back to early to mid 1700's, but mostly late 1700's, by using marriage allegati.

Angela,

Thanks for the information.

Maybe I can find a record for a child or the death of Nicola's wife, if he had one.
