In the early 1800s, Italian records had a lot of useful information for research purposes. Now I am towards the end of the 1800s...not as much information (as far as I can tell).
I am looking at a birth certificate from 1888. It is #53.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cat=719672
I know the father is Pietro Visco (23) and the mother is Domenica D'Auria. The child is Pasquale.
Is the date of birth 26 DEC 1888?
Also, can I tell anything else from this birth certificate? Age of mother? Parents of Pietro or Domenica?
Thanks in advance!
Don

Re: Birth Record Translation from 1888
The birth was recorded on December 26, 1888 but actually occurred 11:50am on December 24, 1888. office closed for Christmas?
No age of mother or names of grandparents.
Both parents are described as contadino/a (peasant farmers).
Their house address could be 60 Centrale Via (60 Central Road).
The rest looks standard.
