Help with translating marriage cert for Dodero

Post by JohnBhoy »

Hi again,

Looking for help with translation of a Marriage cert that looks to be a sibling of my great grandfather - it is entry number 5

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... at=1019419

I think the marriage may have taken place in Chambery, France and this record was a translation of communications from the consul...I could be wrong but it looks similar to another one you guys translated for me a few days ago just a different sibling :)

Many thanks,
John

I probably should leave this to the native speakers, but since there's no response yet, here is my stab at it.

Ernest Florio Picard
Carolina Francesca Dodero
July 31, 1908

Today at the comune hall the following request for publication of upcoming marriage was received from France, which, after translating it precisely, I entered it as follows:

Comune of Chambéry, Savoy, Notice of publication of marriage, July 19, 1908. The mayor of Sant’Antonio di Susa is requested to make the following intended marriage announcement between Mister Ernesto Mario Picard, shoemaker, domiciled in Chambéry, and previously at Voiron (Isere), eldest son of of Nicolo (Picard), deceased, and of Maria Francesca Billon, merchant, domiciled at Voiron,

and

Carolina Francesca Dodero, weaver, domiciled at Chambéry, eldest daughter of Felice (Dodero), deceased, and of Domenica Maritano, homemaker, domiciled in Sant’Antonio di Susa, Italy,

Chambéry July 18, 1908

The preceding transcription has been entered into the volume of allegati in the this register.
Researching Gibellina, Sicily surnames Bivona, Bonafede, Zummo, Ponzio, Bevinetto, Beninati, Fontana, Cipolla, Bruno, Manfrè, Lanfranca, and Navarra

Thanks bbivona,

what is the marriage date? is it the 18th or 19th of July 1908?
is there any info re age of bride and groom?

As it says she is the eldest daughter, it gives me a starting point to work back from for her birth cert as I have records for other sisters who by default will be younger :)

many thanks again,
John

CORRECTION

Sorry for the errors in my translation. On re-reading I believe it should read as follows. (Changes in red)

Lol, many thanks bbivona,
I had been searching for an early birth date for her, before the ones I have already found but had no joy although I did find another sibling :)))

Will search forward for her birth cert later today after 1883

best regards and thanks again

John
