Help with birth translation - MARITANO

Post by JohnBhoy »

Looking for some help translating this birth record please.

Entry 8 - Maritano
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... at=1019269

I believe the parents are Antonio Maritano and Angela Listello, unsure if it says the baby had died. Would appreciate as much info as possible as the parents are my GGG Grandparents and anything about their parents etc from the record would be most helpful...I know his fathers name is Domenico and her fathers name is Giacomo (from previous help in the forum) and can see these name in this record.

Thank you all for your help,

John

February 9, 1879 appeared Antonio Maritano, son of Domenico, deceased, born at Valgioje, who declared that at 10 o’clock last night in the home of Stefano Perotto, a male child was born of his wife, Angela Listello, daughter of Giacomo, deceased. She is a farmer like her spouse and was born in Mocchie.

Because of the immediate death of the child, he was not presented at the town hall and the father gave him the name of Giovanni.
