Yes, those of 1584, 1593, 1607, 1616, 1623, 1636, 1651, 1681, 1714, 1748.

Yes, those of 1584, 1593, 1607, 1616, 1623, 1636, 1651, 1681, 1714, 1748.

They are not available online. You can consult them in person in a Family History Center of hire a Sicilian - based genealogist to consult the original censuses in the State Archive of Palermo.

Do you have any advice as to how I can extend my lineage before 1500? All I know about the earliest ancestor of my grandmother's direct paternal line (my own paternal line is Swiss/German) is that his name was Nicola Carrozza, his wife was Constanza, and he died before 1565. Would consulting notary records be of use, or is Nicola likely as far back as I will ever be able to go?
