Understanding names in a Marriage Certificate - Migliorini Giacomo

Post by fungos »

Hello, normally I'm able to transcribe and translate certificates, depending on the orthography used but I've been having trouble with some letters in this one:

I want to know the names, age and profession of both parents of both Giacomo Migliorini and Catterina Coltro.

Can someone help me?

Thank you very much

Giacomo Migliorin, age 26, farmer, born in Cologna, resident in Zimella, son of Matteo (Migliorin), who is a resident of Zimella, and Maria Crestan

Catterina Coltro, age 22, farmer, born in Zimella, resident in Zimella, daughter of Angelo (Coltro) and of Lucia Bellini, deceased.

Note Giacomo’s surname is spelled Migliorin (no ending “I”) in the marriage act 2 places and his signature reads that way. It is also spelled that way in the publications and in the 10-year marriage index. Parents’ surnames are easier to read in the publications.

Also, much easier to read is Lucia Bellini’s death record

You requested the parents' ages and professions. Those are not listed here. You can probably find this in their death records which you can probably locate through the 10-Year death indices at the following link.

Gazie mille!

Other than confirming the names in this one, this shows me something I was missing on my researches: tracking the death certificate for the mentioned parents in a marriage certificate.
