May 23, 1914 at 10:20 a.m. at the town hall in Ari appeared

Luigi Laerzio, age 21, farmer, born in Orsogna, resident in Ari, a single man, son of Diogene (Laerzio), a resident of Ari, and of deceased Filomena Damiano, resident in life in Orsogna, and

Maria Giovina Caldarone, age 19, farmer, born in Ari, resident in this comune, a single woman, daughter of Domenico (Caldarone), resident of Ari, and of Donata Brenda, resident of Ari

who requested to be united in marriage. All documents having been filed, the spouses took their vows before witnesses Vincenzo Centosanti, son of Giuseppe, age 23, shoemaker, and Nicola Di Rico, son of Donato, age 35, shoemaker, both residents of this comune. The documents presented included certification of the publications of intent, first on May 3 and second on May 10.

They presented the consent to the marriage of the father of the groom and both parents of the bride. The act read to the participants, they signed except for the bride who does not know how to write.

I want to profusely thank you for patience and the effort you took to translate my family's birth, death and marriage registries. This should, hopefully, be all of them. They have made my genealogy documentation much more accurate.

I want to ask you again about the application form for my grandfather's military record. It is supposed to be emailed but how do I pay for the documents with an email? They ask for Revenue Stamps to pay for document copies. How do I get them in the U.S.? Since there is an address on the form, could I just mail everything and enclose euros? He lived in Monte San Guilano (Erice), Sicily.
I would appreciate your advice with this.
Thank you, again.

Happy to help on the translations. I'm sorry but I don't know what to tell you on how to deal with the Revenue Stamps from the U.S. You can get copies of the documents by e-mail without them, but if you're requesting paper documents that require the revenue stamps, I don't know. Any time I've needed a revenue stamp for something, I've been physically there in Sicily so it wasn't hard to handle.

By the way, San Giuliano (Erice) is a gorgeous place. Our house in Sicily is about 20 minutes from there, and we go there fairly often.

In doing research on my mother's family, I was able to make contact with a cousin in Marsala. We message back and forth every day. I am getting good with google translate because they don't speak English and I don't speak Italian! We would love to visit and they wan't us to come. With Covid I don't know when that will be able to happen. In 2002 we visited Orsogna and met the family. They don't speak English and the dialect is a foreign language!! I took nine months of Italian before we went and we only understood "yes" and "no". The dictionary was of no help. Good things Italians can gesture! The country is beautiful. I want to go back and go to Sicily also. Maybe I will have to wait to get my grandfather's documents while we are there.
Again, thank you for all you have done for me. I almost feel like your family.
Bless you!
