Matteo Donato Solimando- birth certificate
I am looking to see how to find a birth certificate for my great grandfather Matteo Donato Solimando, who seems to have gone by the name Matthew or Mathew Salimando one he was settled in CT, USA, according to the 1930 US Census. From what I can see in the Ellis Island documents, he immigrated on October 24, 1912 and was coming from his home in San Marco in Lamis,Foggia,Puglia,Italy.

First check if those years are digitized by going to familysearch.org. If they are not, then you need to write to the Comune for his birth record.
