Help Needed With A Birth Certificate

Post by demari18 »

Hello, I have just found the birth record for my husband's great grandmother's sister, Filomina Cimino. I was able to read the part that says she was born on October 30, 1836. The father was Nicola Cimino and the mother Chiara Palumbo. Is someone could look at the document to see if there is any other important information. Does it say where the family lived when the baby was born? The comune is Marzano Appio. The part of the record I am interested in is on the left side. Thank you! DeMari

First Page (Image 96 Right Side): Baptism took place on 28 October 1836, Church of S. Maria Maggiore, Marzano Appio.

The midwife was the person who presented the baby and reported the birth and it doesn't give the reason why.

Page Two (Image 97 Left Side): Chiara Palumbo, legitimate wife of Nicola Cimino, was a 29 yo, contadina (peasant), living in the town, Strada Torello, no number given, and Nicola Cimino, was a 30 yo, Falegname (carpenter/wood worker). The baby was born on 28 October 1836, at 8 pm, in the married couples own home, (ie in Strada Torello), and given the name Filomena.

Dear Angela, Thank you ever so much. My husband and I traveled to Marzano Appio in 2013 and visited a church not knowing which was the family church. From your translation I now know we were in the wrong church. So now I have more information to continue my searching. Ever so grateful for your help. DeMari
