Can I please have this marriage registry translated. Image 23 #20. I believe this couple are my G G G grandparents Giacomo Donia and Caterina Pezzano. If possible names of Bride and Groom as well as parents, dates and professions of all involved. I believe that Giacomo was born in Sicily. But no proof as of yet
Thank you

Just wanted to add a couple of things:

The date of the Promise was on 31 July 1834.
The Church Marriage took place on 3 August 1834, in the Church of S. Nicola di Mira.

The name of the town looks like Roccacia?
I believe the correct surname is Pezzano not Pozzano.

Here is Caterina's "original" 1811 birth record which confirms the correct spelling and also takes you back one more generation:

Birth No 31: Caterina Domenica Pezzano
Dated in Oppido on 12 May 1811

Appearing was Giuseppe Pezzano, (son of deceased Pasquale), travagliatore (worker/labourer), 40 yo, living in this town of Oppido. He presented a baby girl, born 9 am on 12 May from his legitimate wife Francesca Cuzzilla, who they named Caterina, Domenica.

@John

You can use those fantastic processetti that bbivona has located for you to go back and find the original records. With my own research I use the processetti as a guide and always locate the originals when they are available, because sometimes there is either clerical error in the transciptions from the original records, or sometimes even the wrong certificate has been submitted.

I thank you Angela and bbivona, you both have been extremely helpful to me. I am finding things out that I have never known. I had a suspicion that my surname was changed when my great grandparents came to the USA in 1905. My great grandfather had his name as Giacomo Dunia. But all of his children and grand children and gg grandchildren have been using the name Dunio. Now I am finding that the original surname may be Donia. I will keep on searching for more answers. Thank you all once again
