July 16, 1894 at town hall in Ari appeared Domenico Calderone, age 25, farmer, domiciled in Ari, who declared that at 11:20 a.m. on July 15, in the home in contrada San Pietro, Brenda Donata, his wife, age 18, a farmer who lives with him, gave birth to a female child who was presented to me and to whom was given the name of Maria Giovina.
Witnesses were Nicola di Rito, age 37, farmer, and Ignazio Balzano, age 58, farmer, both residents of Ari.

The left margin says that on May 23, 1914 in Ari, marriage record #8, Maria Giovina married Luigi Laerzio, son of Diogene. That notation was made July 2, 1914.

Notice the spelling of her name, Maria Giovina, rather than Giovanna.
