May 19, 1821 at comune offices in Marsala appeared Maria Stella, age 32, midwife, domiciled in Marsala, who presented a male child and declared that at he was born of Antonia Rallo, age 32, domiciled in San Tommaso neighborhood outside of the Mazara Gate, and of her husband, Vincenzo Giacalone, age 36, farmer, on May 18 at 3 a.m. in their home. The child was was given the name of Francesco.

Witnesses were Francesco Biondo, age 42, cart driver, domiciled in Marsala in the San Tommaso neighborhood outside the Mazara Gate, and Francesco Marino, age 26, day laborer, resident of Marsala in the Annunziata Piano della Piancina neighborhood.

Maria Giacalone was baptized on May 19, 1821 in the Parish of the Chiesa Madre
