I would appreciate help with better understanding this birth act (first act on top of left page) for what I think is a foundling baby.
20 March 1702
It appears to me that Fortunata the "exposita" (exposed/foundling) birth was recorded and the baby was baptized in the preghenlesian parish? Possibly the baby was injured? And what is the role of Giovanni Stanchina and Margarita Calovina?
Thank you!
Robert

Re: 18th century birth act in Latin from Livo, Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige
Hi
Fortunata was found abandoned in a chapel near the parish church with a note that said she was already baptized. But because it was not certain that the Baptism was valid "ob incertitudine veri Baptismi" she was baptized "sub condicione" by (cannot read the name of the priest, but it appears he was the parish priest)
Giovanni and Domina Margarita, (cannot read the surname) both from Livo, were the godparents
She was given the name Fortunata, meaning lucky
Ciao

Thank you Paola! Always nice to have the Latin parts transcribed. It helps me to recognize more letters as I read more of these records, so thank you for that.
