Citizenship and Italian Language B1 exam

Post by Italia888 »

I am Italian, living in UK. My wife wants to apply for Italian citizenship. Both in our 70s.

We understand the first thing she needs to do is pass a B1 Italian language test. She speaks pretty fluently, and has successfully achieved C1 level (Advanced) on online tests.

The Italian embassy list of colleges is not currently available (being updated). I know about ‘Happy Languages’, but their website says they are so busy, only course students can take an exam. There seems to nowhere on the South Coast where we live.

We have Googled but not found anywhere within a 3 hour journey to take the B1 exam.

It seems crazy that at her age she has to take a language exam anyway. (Seniors are exempt when applying for British citizenship).

We do not shop or use public transport re Covid, and are unlikely to for the forseeable future.

Help please.
