Does this seem correct? Death record names/dates

Post by scraig32 »

So I just posted a marriage record for a Pasquale Diprima and Francesca Biondo who married in 1834, for some translation help.

http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it ... ewsIndex=0

I then used the information about the groom's parents to search for their deaths. I found the following record for a Maria Di Leonardo who died in 1915, widow of Gaspare Diprima These are the exact names of my groom in the above marriage document. However, how in the world could this be, the dates would be way off? Is this just a coincidence or am I totally missing something? Can someone please tell me what I am missing on this one. I'm sorry for being so dense.

Thank you so much! Suzanne

Of course, she can't be Pasquale's mother; it's a case of homonymy of both spouses (that's common in small towns).
As they were 60 in 1834, it's likely that they died not long later. Have you looked in registers from 1834 on?

Thank you Pippo. I will have to look through those death registers someday when they are available online. Santa Ninfa does not have its deaths online for that time sadly. Thank you for your help.

Of course, clerical error is a possibility.

yes, that is true as well. It's just so frustrating because there is no online access toSanta Ninfa records for the 1830's right now. A roadblock until they are available. Thank you for taking a look

not yet, that is a good idea. Would I just look through Antenati and/or Family Search?

This is a useful topic:

I think someone also posted a link for church records online. Maybe you can search this forum for that.

Yes.

Some churches are listed for Trapani, but not for your town.

I don't see any civil records or church records online for Pianella dated before 1809.

This person has done some genealogy research in Pianella. Maybe you can ask him.
