Recorded on February 10, 1876 in Sciacca.
Rosa Maniscalco, 51 year old, a receiver of foundlings, domiciled here, declared that at 9:25 a.m. today in the home on via Oveto #15 a male child was discovered in the foundlings’ wheel, of recent birth, wrapped in tattered clothes/rags with no sign of identity and to whom was given the name of Giuseppe and the surname of Cesoli.
Said child was turned over to Margarita Barsalona, who promised to nurse him and care for his needs and account to the authorities for his care.
