I previously made a post asking about my Lisanti ancestors from Potenza and received a lot of useful information. However, I was still unable to find the birth record for my g-g-grandfather Gerardo Lisanti and his father Donato, either in Potenza (comune) or Avigliano (where Donato was listed as being born). Per the suggestion of AngelaGrace56, I posted on the Potenza Genealogy Facebook group, wherein a kind user found Donato's 1830 birth record and his 1852 marriage record both in Avigliano.
From Avigliano, there are two geographical moves within the region for these Lisanti. Donato's younger children, starting with at least Angelo, were born in Potenza (the comune). Donato's father, Francesco Antonio, per his 1828 marriage in Avigliano, was born in Buccino, Salerno.
Thus, to the best of my current knowledge, Donato and his family moved to Potenza from Avigliano. Donato's father, Francesco, had moved to Avigliano from Buccino, Salerno. I have been unable to find any birth or death record for Francesco's father Nunzio, so I am unsure whether he had moved to Buccino from elsewhere.
I am curious if such migrations within the region were common at that time. Namely, within 60 years (and 1-2 generations), Francesco's family moved from Buccino --> Avigliano --> Potenza. Would this indicate anything about the family? All records list the family members as bracciale or contadino, i.e. just laborers/sharecroppers. On a larger note, I also wonder what this means as far as where I would consider the "home" of the Lisanti. If I visit for genealogical purposes, would it be Potenza? Avigliano? Buccino?
Summary of migration: Nunzio Lisanti (b. approx. 1770, unknown place) --> Francesco Antonio Lisanti (b. 1799, Buccino, married in Avigliano in 1828) --> Donato Lisanti (b. 1830 in Avigliano, m. 1852 in Avigliano, moved to Potenza by at least 1860).
Relatedly, I have gone as far back as seems possible using Antenati/other internet sources (i.e. I will be unable to find Francesco Lisanti's birth record, since he was born around 1799, nor that of his father Nunzio, born around 1770). What are the steps that one can take to learn more about the family? I have searched the death records in Bucccino from 1816-1865 (excl. 1835 and 1836 [no records] and about 10 years without indices) to find Nunzio's record, but have come up empty (at some point I'll search the years without an index, since that seems to be the only option!)

Re: Migration within Southern Italy
I would say moving to these places in a 60 year period is not uncommon. Laborers would often follow the work.
You would want to use the hints from marriage records to narrow in on whether or not the fathers are still alive to find their deaths. For example in 1828,
http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it ... ewsIndex=0
Nunzio Lisanti is still alive and is listed as living in Buccino. His wife is too. This helps eliminate some of the years without indices, including the biggest one which is 1817 (cholera outbreak).
I can have a look this evening as well.

Re: Migration within Southern Italy
Thank you for that information - I didn't think to check that information and the list of records shown (often the 2nd or 3rd page of the marriage record)! I found a marriage between Nunzio's son Pietroantonio in Buccino in 1841 that lists the death records of groom's parents (and bride's parents) as being shown before the marriage. Thus, Nunzio Lisanti and Angela D'Amore were deceased by 1841.
I cannot read the acts 3-6 that are in the 1828 Avigliano marriage. I can post it to the transcription portion of this website for some help (said post!).
I realize now that I should be able to check the Matrimoni, processetti documents for Buccino in 1841 and find the accompanying documents that are listed in Pietroantonio's marriage, correct? In that case, I should find his parents's death certificates. (As of now, those images are not loading for me on Antenati, so I'll have to try again later!)

Re: Migration within Southern Italy
Processetti are definitely the best and often only way to go for pre-civil registration records in towns where church records are not digitized. I should have some time soon to help out.

Re: Migration within Southern Italy
Thanks for confirming my suspicion that those would be useful records. However, I'm having trouble accessing the processetti for Buccino (both 1828 and 1841) - many of the pages do not load (instead, I get "platform error" which hasn't resolved in any of my tries over the last two days). Nonetheless, I've found where the 1841 processetti start (or at least one of the first few pages) for Pietroantonio's marriage and one of the pages that did load was the death certificate of his mother, Angela D'Amore. It seems that for this year (1841), they were scanned in reverse order, meaning that the documents start around page 92/93 and continue in the 80s page-wise. According to the list of records for this marriage, I should also be able to get the death record of Nunzio's father (who I believe was Francesco Lisanti) through these processetti (whenever they load properly)!
