Hello again,
I have resumed my ancestry search.
Antonio D'Angelo, b. 1744, d. 1807
His wife is Petronilla Chiovetti, birth and death are unknown.
His father is Ignazio D'Angelo, but I cannot find a birth or death record.
Please, can anyone help me fill in the blanks?
Many thanks,
Carol

Have you searched marriage allegati?

Supporting documents for a civil marriage, may include birth of groom and bride, as well as death records of parents, former spouses, etc.
If you can find marriage allegati for a child of Ignazio it might include his death record. The marriage record should identify any allegati. Then you'd have to locate the allegati themselves, likely in a separate file.
Allegati may be called something else outside of Sicily.
Unfortunately, I don't think they existed before 1820.

Among marriage allegati for marriages in Sicily the 1800s, I've found transcribed records of births and deaths dating back to the mid 1700s.
