Antenati Photo Format Problem
Antenati Photo Format Problem
In the past, Antenati download photos of civil records were always saved as JPEG. Today, per link below, it is saving the birth record for Rosa Scarola in PNG which many sites reject including Ancestry.com. How do I get back to JPEG?

Also, what does the side note say?

Re: Antenati Photo Format Problem
You should be able to save the .png to your computer and then convert (save as) it to a .jpg...

Thanks. So I have to save the image twice. Once as a PNG. Then save the PNG as a JPEG. Then go back and delete the PNG. 3 steps instead of 1 step. And Antenati calls this an improvement?!! Bad enough the new Antenati deliberately obscures the initial images won't let you see the original images until you click on them to make them large.

That pretty much goes for any "improvement". Of course the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so the more feedback they get MIGHT lead to some changes...rp76226 wrote: 05 Dec 2021, 00:00 Thanks. Re: Antenati Photo Format Problem
How do you give Antenati feedback?
Re: Antenati Photo Format Problem
Here's an instructional video on the new Antenati website. Confirms how bad it is:

Re: Antenati Photo Format Problem
Ron,
A number of folks responded here https://www.facebook.com/AntenatiPortaleSan/.
Mark,
Based on the managers of Antenati's response to the issue of blowing out all the existing URL's, I don't hold much hope that they even understand (or care) what they've done---therefore I have little optimism that they'll actually work to 'fix' the other issues (photo downloads/links to individual page/etc) that they created with the new & improved site.
The URL response can be translated a number of different ways:
"We're trying to recover the functionality of the old URLs also in the new system, at least provisionally."
:We are investigating the possibility of restoring the functionality of the previous URLs to the new system as well, at least temporarily."
Either interpretation shows that a temporary fix is really NO FIX! And the double-speak in the 2nd interpretation ("investigating the possibility") reeks of political-like BS.

Re: Antenati Photo Format Problem
Ann, not following.
1. First, here is the section for Windows that you referred to:
For WINDOWS USERS:
Locate the image you want to copy. Make a note of the PAGE number.
Using the informazione sull’oggetto (blue I) Scroll to the end.
Click on IIIF MANIFEST Link
Now click Expand all. (if necessary)
Scroll down. Under ‘sequences’ in a series of indents, each image is numbered with a menu below.
Keep scrolling to your page number. In the indent find ‘images/resource/@id (0:)
There should now be a link ending in .jpg. under “thumbnail: @id
CLICK and your image will appear.
Right click and ‘save image as’ –Perfect!
2. Second, here is a link to a photo I used to try to follow these directions:
https://www.antenati.san.beniculturali. ... 57&lang=en
3. I get stuck at this part of those directions - I just don't see it annywhere:
Using the informazione sull’oggetto (blue I) Scroll to the end.
