This one is a little tough, so I'll let the experts correct my mistakes --

From what I can make out:

Date of record 20 Dec 1881

On 18 Dec, (???) Nigrello Barbaro (?), age 33 shepherd, and Caterina Perre, (no age given) peasant, his wife living with him, at their home in Via Giardinello, gave birth to a female child which they presented and named Maria.

Witnesses: Antonio Agresta, age 43 laborer and Vano (?) Perre, age 39 shepherd.

It looks like Rocco may have "adopted" a double surname, except, Rocco and Caterina's 1875 marriage shows Rocco's surname to be "just" Barbaro. I noticed that there was another Barbaro with an added surname in the records.

Here's the marriage translation:

Marriage No 5: Rocco Barbaro e Caterina Perre

Registered 30 May 1875, 11.48 pm, town of Plati

Appearing before the official were:

Groom: Rocco Barbaro, 25 (next birthday, so still 24), pastore (shepherd), born in Plati, and residing there, the son of Domenico, and of Giuseppa Garreffa, both living Plati.

Bride: Caterina Perre, 17 yo, contadina, born in Plati, and residing there, the daughter of Rocco, and of Maria Carbone, both residing Plati.

Publications were posted on 9 May, and the second one posted on Sunday, 16 May, 1875. Respective parents gave their consent for the marriage to proceed. The pubblications resulted in no opposition to the marriage taking place.

Edit to Add:

The marriage pubblication gives you a little bit more info about -

Domenico Barbaro – he was 50 yo, maybe a shepherd (writing not so clear???)

Giuseppa Garreffa, no age given, a contadina

Rocco Perra -was 42 yo, shepherd???

Maria Carbone, no age given, a contadina

Even in Rocco's birth certificate it appears that the surname is only Barbaro. Record #50 on Sep 3, 1850 in Platinì. Birth on 2nd. I think Nigrello is the nickname by which Rocco would have been known later, when his daughter Maria was born.
