I am looking for the earliest Guarino family in Valledolmo Sicily. I have gone through the indexed public records for Valledolmo, and have a reasonably good record of many of my family members from 1800-1910 (and then into Buffalo NY). I've reviewed the land contracts and survey info defined in the excellent Valledolmo document written by Vincenzo Battaglia. The Valledolmo Sicily family references prior to 1820 get sketchy, but I can find some prior generation parents listed on marriage records and death records.
Does anyone have Guarino family information for Sicily (Valledolmo specifically) in the time period of 1715-1790? I would be interested to connect and compare notes. I see a vague reference to a Michele Guarino, and there was a wet nurse Vincenza who must date into the mid/late 1700s. If anyone knows when the earliest Guarino family arrived in Valledolmo Sicily (and from where), that would be very interesting to know! There are a lot of Guarino's in northern Italy, and some hint that my line may come through Vincenza. Thanks for any advice.

Yes, I see a few records for Rosario Guarino and Orazia Ciali. Their ages are a bit suspect as I have two records of births of children 2 years apart, but Rosario's age is given as 43 in one record and 27 in the other record (both records list Orazia Ciali as wife). Assuming an older Rosario, he would have been born about 1785.
This is still much later than what I'm interested in. The oldest references I've found for Guarino's in Valledolmo are for a Cosmo Guarino and for Michele Guarino. They are circa 1737 and 1746 respectively. I would be interested in knowing anything I can about those individuals, as they appear to match the approximate date given in the surnames history listing for the earliest Guarinos.
Cosmo (circa 1737) was gleaned from being the father referenced in the death record of Antonino Guarino (wife Battista Granata), who died in 1827 at age 70. Michele Guarino (wife Antonina Pisa) was gleaned from being the father referenced in the death record of Giuseppe Guarino, who died in 1866 (age 100).
I have not searched the Riveli; just the Valledolmo public records available for download. I need to learn how to search the Riveli....will do that soon. Thank you for the comments!

You'll probably have to go to a FHC in person to access Riveli records.
Some go back to the late 1500s. Yours should at least cover some of the 1700s.
They are difficult to navigate and to read but you may discover something.
What about church records?

Re: Earliest Guarinos in Valledolmo Sicily
I am also hunting for Guarino in the 1700's in Valledolmo. My great great great grandfather was Calogero Guarino , born about 1795 and his wife was Angela Randazzo. The first child born in 1819 was named Rosario, so Calogero's father could be named Rosario. That is using the naming convention, if they followed it.
According to the Valledolmo website, there were no Guarino's in Valledolmo in 1714.
Cosimo or Cosmo was born in 1825 and is my line. His first son was named Calogero, which was his fathers name, so he was following the convention.

I also found a reference to Orazio Guarino in 1825. On my GG grandfather Cosmo Guraino's birth record and on the second page there is a witness who is Orazio Guarino who is 56 years old. He died in 1842 at 72, so the ages fit. Orazio was also married but his wife was born in 1810. He was a lot older and this could have been his second wife Giuseppa Ricotta
because she was too young to have been the mother of his know son Calogero who was born 1795. Orazio was born about 1769 and Giuseppa was born in 1810 , so he was 41 years older than her. It also shows her death in 1860 at 50 years old and her husband listed as Orazio Guarino, so I am pretty sure I have all the right people and relationship.
I suspect Orazio Guarino is Calogero Guarino's father.
Calogero Guarino should have named his first son after his father though and I show his fist son as Rosario who died at 3 years old. He could have had another first son before that in 1817 or so. Calogero was born about 1795 and his wife Angela Randazzo was born about 1798.
