1714 Rivelo

Post by darkerhorse »

In this 1714 Rivelo, Agatina, head of household, is recorded as a widow, so would this be her maiden surname or married surname?

Also, what is the age of her son Sebastiano, and is her neighborhood St. Miceli?

Thanks.

I do remember hearing that, on some documents, widows could be referred to by their husband's surname.

Is her surname actually Volante or Valante, instead of Vitale? Her parents being Mauto and Vita...

I thought you might find the following forum interesting, in case you haven't seen it before. John seems to be quite knowledgeable about the topic: https://www.italiangenealogy.com/forum/ ... eli#p63869
