You are very welcome for all the help, Carol. I was so determined to find his Death Record. I'd been out in the garden most of the day so it was my first thing to get on to after dinner. Persistence always wins!!! I'll leave you to locate his second marriage - hopefully you won't find it's his third, which would not be so unusual.
BTW Finding Tucidide and Ida's marriage in Baiano was a lucky guess. I did some sleuthing and saw that he had been a Professor in Baiano, and that he had died there, so decided to followup, and bingo!!! You just have to look for those little clues.
