Many years ago, I went to Italy (San Giuseppe) to meet my father's extended family. Although I spoke no Italian, and they spoke no English, it was an experience like no other as we seemed to have bonded on a level that didn't require the spoken word. My father has since passed, but each year I write to his 1st cousin Vittorio and he returns a letter to me. This passed Christmas, I received a letter from Vittorio but misplaced it and didn't find it until now. I'm hoping someone might be able to help and translate this into English for me.
Through the years, I'm told Vittorio's handwriting is a bit difficult to read, but I'm hopefully we can at least get the general idea.

Carissimi William e Bebbi ci auguriamo che voi tutti stiate bene e che anche la tua cara mamma possa stare in condizioni di salute accettabili. Noi tutti, nonostante la pandemia (COVID) versiamo in condizioni discrete. Ci siamo vaccinati ma le preoccupazioni non mancano. Attraverso l'informazione sappiamo che il problema è mondiale e quindi anche gli USA sono interessati. Speriamo, ma è solo illusione, che tutto finisca in tempi brevi. Il Natale e il nuovo anno sono vicinissimi e noi non possiamo fare altro che augurarci mogliori condizioni.
A voi tutti diciamo ATTENZIONE, siete giovani e potete sempre festeggiare. Comunque vi auguriamo di trascorrere queste feste in santa pace, in un clima di tranquillità e tanta serenità. Vi chiedo scusa per la calligrafia, gli anni pesano anche sulla scrittura.
