Hello could someone help with the translation of Virgilio Scardina - 1863 - Cefalu.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1947613
I've been searching for the birth of Vigilio's parents, I think perhaps I found the mother's.. Concetta Naso - 1844 - Cefalu.
The writing is difficult to make out, but I was curious if this is indeed the name listed. I'm still working to confirm the mother, but her father is listed from a prior birth certificate of a different child listed as Giuseppe.

Concetta’s parent are listed as Giuseppe Naso and Maria Saija, his wife. Interesting, their address was Strada del Rosario. I’ll type up the translation for this in a sec. Do you not have Concetta and Gaspare’s marriage record? Finding that will help confirm things for you.

Thank you Angela! The marriage is the missing link, I've been working through the children hoping for another clue of where it may have occurred.
I did finally locate Gaspare's death certificate just this afternoon, as I was trying to find specifically where he may have been born at. They seem to be moving around a bit from what I've seen in the northern family. There's many trees on Ancestry as there were many children, but I think most are wrong with Concetta's last name and parents.

We do know that Concetta came to the US in 1906 and died here, I think I may have found the tombstone. I can't make it out on the stone, but the date does actually seem to align to the June 7th 1844 you just uncovered

Re: Translation help Birth Records
Yes, I definitely read June 1844 but I can't see the 7 there. It may have worn away. The year of birth definitely matches with her age on Virgilio's birth record and also Anna's. Just keep working backwards with the children's births. If there are years missing in the marriages, then look for the pubblication/s,deigo1 wrote: 29 Sep 2022, 22:12

Thanks as always Angela.
I know the things changed around 1861 which maybe the year they were married. Have you seen gaps in that time period? Familysearch starts in 1862, and antenati ends 1859.
Just to make sure I'm making it out was Gaspera from his death certificate "Nato in Palmero" meaning he was born in that city?
Our understanding is Virgilio is the first born (feb 1863), and Anna is the second born. This aligns to the naming standards in that Gapare's parents from his death cert are Virgilio and Anna. Concetta was very young at least in what I've seen at 19, when she had Vigilio... so I have to think marriage 1861-1862 give he was born so early in 1863.
Thanks!

Unfortunately those likely years of marriage are missing as you say. For some reason they wern't filmed. I'm not sure why. Possibly they were not in good condition or not available. This is what has been filmed for Cefalu here https://www.familysearch.org/search/cat ... %20Library Maybe you could try writing to the town. (While nineteen seems young, I have seen a lot younger.)
Just to make sure I'm making it out was Gaspera from his death certificate "Nato in Palermo" meaning he was born in that city? Yes he was born in Palermo and the parents had lived there when living.
