Cause of Death
Can anyone read the secondary cause of death and the vertical comment on the right on this death certificate which is written in English?

To me it looks like the secondary cause of death was anaemia/anemia. Primary cause was Uterine Cancer.

Thanks. Yes, it is St. Rose's Cancer Home. I checked the street address. Yes, it does look like anemia, now that you mention it. Any idea about the vertical word?

No, sorry that word has got me stumped. The heading above the column in which the vertical word appears seems to be "Duration"? I can't think what the word might be. Hopefully someone else may be able to work it out.

On the second page it is noted that she had been transferred from St John's Hospital in Long Island City ("LIC"). Perhaps there was incomplete information to accurately fill in the "Duration" column, and that word is "Ambulance".

Looked again at the vertical word in the "Duration" column, I now hypothesize it to be "Unknown".
