Is these names in your family line? Cavalier, Cao, Christie, Zuliani
I am trying to find the parents for Nicolo Cao b. 1820 Venice,Venezia Italy. He married Adriana Zuliani in about 1835. Their son Federico Cao, b. 1836 in Venezia, middle name is Cavalier. I am wondering if Nicolo's mother's maiden name was Cavalier? In checking the way the children were named after relatives, I am thinking Nicolo's father was Federico Cao, because Nicolo's first son was named Federico and the first son was named after the paternal grandfather. Can anyone find Nicolo Cao's parents in their line using this information? Thanks, Dawn

Where did you find that Federico's middle name was "Cavalier"? It's more likely a honorific title, often written between the surname and the first name (for instance, Rossi Dr. Mario)
As to Nicolo's father's name, the choice of a name for the first child was a custom, but not a rule.
So, you better look for Nicolo's death record, that should mention his parents.

Hi Pippo, Nicolo Cao died very young in 1844. How do I find the death record? Dawn
