Elusive birth certificate from Santa Margherita Ligure!!

Post by Liguria »

Hi, forum members!! This might be a long shot, but I can't seem to move forwards in my search of my GGF BARTOLOMEO LASTRETO's birth certificate. I've tried everything I could think of available online, especially the Antenati portal and Familysearch. I've found his mother's birth' certificate, his father's, their marriage certificate and even the birth certificates of his seven children (born in Argentina), as well as quite a bit of information -- probably because after all he comes from a fairly small town and his surname is not that common --, but the microfilms for the year he was born are just not there!! He was born in 1868, though I'm also checking 1867 and 1869, to be on the safe side. Figlio de Gerolamo Leonardo Secondo Lastreto (fu Bartolomeo) y de Rosa Vittoria Pellerano (fu Andrea), from Santa Margherita Ligure. Short of going to Italy myself, I don't know what else to do!! So I registered in the forum, hoping there's some source I've missed. Any ideas??
