This is a sign being held up in a group photo of over 100 persons. The event was a Sicilian-American extended family outing in the U.S. in the mid-1950s.
The sign reads: "Leave Disputes & Strives to Others. In Harmony We Must Move."
It sounds like a labor union slogan but that would be out of place.
Nor does it sound particularly Italian.
Many of the attendees belonged to Italian-American clubs, so I suppose it could be related to that.
The outing was held at a private farm so I assume the sign was brought to the event.
Any ideas?

Possibly a reminder to attendees to not fall into the long-standing cultural habit to hold grudges, etc. It could also be an anti-Mafia message (as unfortunately that tended to be a pall over many forthright Sicilians here in the US)...
