Plz help translating birth record

Post by PicaJ »

Hi everyone,

Would anyone be able to help translating record # 46 for Giuseppe Lapedota?

https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12 ... 6/?lang=en

Thanks in advance!

It looks like you've been waiting patiently some time to have this translated. This may need a bit of tweaking but here goes:

Birth Entry No 46: Transcription of Birth Act of Giuseppe Lapedota

(Basically a copy of Giuseppe’s birth act was received from the Italian Consulate in Cairo, Egypt and transcribed into Part 2 of the 1898 Birth Register of the town of Bari, on 26 February 1898)

Birth Act of Giuseppe Lapedota
Registered 18 March 1897, 10.10 am

Appearing was Lorenzo Lapedota, 36 yo born in Bari, province of Bari, living in Regno?, in the town of Bari, province of Bari and currently resident in Cairo. He reported that at 10.30 am on 15 March 1897, in Cairo, in the house in Abdui No 1, from his wife Elena Lafronza, house attendant, was born a baby boy who he presented to the official and gave the name of Giuseppe Natale.

Then it looks like it just lists those who were present at the registration?

Thank you so much Angela for taking the time to go through this.

Yeah I knew about Cairo and most of the names and a few days after posting this I worked out Lorenzo's age which allowed me to get the family tree to mid 1700's Bari but what you've translated is amazing so thanks again!

@PicaJ

You are very welcome for the help, and I'm so pleased that your deciphering Lorenzo's age was able to take you back so far. That's really exciting. Well done.
