Hi
I need someone to clarify one line of this birth cert please? (Family search- page 110 sheet 1/2 of cert)
Its for a trovatello found at the wheel in 1871
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... cc=1912932
Line 4 from the top is unclear. To me it says:
"quattro faldi faoloni fasera ? pensieri e due coppoloni vecchi"
However most of those words do not have any meaning (I can read most Italian)
any tips?
Is it possible the pensieri were gifts left?
thank you anyone who can help
I need someone to confirm one line of this document please?

It looks like you have misread the script so that's possibly why the words don't make too much sense to you. The script certainly isn't so clear. The following is what I read:
...fu trovato involto in "quattro falde, fadone, fascia, spenser e due coppoloni vecchi, cammicia nuova."
So basically it is a list of the items that were included with the baby when found. This was mandatory in case at a later stage the parents were in a position/wanted to claim the child as their own.
In my own words I understand that it is saying that the baby was found wearing four flaps, a waste band, a sash/band and a short little jacket and two old caps (little baby helmets maybe) and a new shirt. The first three items are basically swaddling clothes. I haven't come across "falde and fadone" in records before but I'm pretty sure that's what they were but someone else might like to verify. Hope this helps.
