Access to Ancestry.com
If someone offers to share their family tree on Ancestry.com with me, would I need a paid subscription to access it or can I view it with a free account?
Re: Access to Ancestry.com
You can access it for free. They may offer a two week free subscription, but turn that down. They will take your credit card number and bill you if you don't cancel in time. You will be a "member' but not a "subscriber", meaning that you won't see hints as a free member if you put your own tree on Ancestry.com which you can do for free as a member. You will be able to answer messages from other Tree members if they send you a message and respond to their messages, but you won't be able to initiate messages to other Tree members unless you become a subscriber.
