A.G.P. meaning - was going to ask

Post by babycath »

Does anyone know what A.S.P. stands for on Vital Records? It is listed in Place of Birth
Thanks

Hi Welcome to the forum!!! (Sorry for the delay in replying - we were off line for a while.)

In reply to your query, is it A.S.P. or A.G.P? Can you please post a link to the online birth record so that we can read what it says exactly.

A.G.P. would make sense if the child was of unknown parents and possibly left at a foundling home or at the local church. A.G.P. is an abbreviation for Ave Gratia Plena which was a name given to some founding homes and also to churches. We really need to take a look at the birth record to be sure.
