Are your ancestors Norman?

Post by miketravers »

Hello All,

Our FTDNA Y-DNA project has identified Norman connections into southern Italy. However, we know there are numerous more connections that can be made. Right now the surnames represented are Pascarella, Covelli and Barletta.

If you have tested autosomally with 23andme or FTDNA your terminal SNP will show as M420. Your raw data can be transferred for free to FTDNA. Also, that same raw data can be checked at https://cladefinder.yseq.net to see if it shows as YP4141.

If you have tested on Ancestry or myheritage your raw data can also be checked for SNP's under YP4141. That is the extremely rare line of R1a that we are looking for.

At that point, we would welcome you into our project and would consider assisting with the cost of Big Y testing.

If you have never tested your DNA please consider it. FTDNA Family Finder will now give you a male haplogroup and STR or Big Y testing will provide your own genetic path.

Thank you to everyone for your interest.
