Help with writing on back of picture

Post by deigo1 »

Hello could someone help with the translation on the back of this picture. The first few words I making out to say hello mother, but struggling to make out the other words. We believe it could be a picture of my Grandmother's sister Maria Pia.

Thank you,
D.

Thank you very much mmogno!

Given the tone, I wonder if perhaps she was there for medical treatment, she died ~ 2 years later around age 35

Are you referring to "so that they always remember me"?

From my experience with translating personal postcards, photos etc on the forum, and also from personal experience receiving gifts, postcards, photos etc from family in Italia, sent to my birth family over the years, it was very common for the sender/giver to ask that the gift/photo etc be kept as a keepsake/souvenir in memory of the giver. (I still have little gifts from aunts/uncles, cousins with little notes attached to them saying things like “Angela, un ricordo a te e tutti noi da......”

Not sure if this helps or not.

Hi Angela! Hope you are well. I missed your last post. Yes, I was referring to that line you mentioned. Good to know that is was more common closing.

Thanks!
