Hi all - looking for help interpreting some latin abbreviations that I'm not familiar with...
Link to marriage act: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... g=en&i=333
Location in document: Top-right
Essential text: "Marriage between Francesco DiStefano, son of (gV) Ignazio and Rosa Marino (rel: gV) Maria Mazzaglia, and Venera Moschetto, daughter of (gV) Antonini and Domenica Mirone."
I'm curious what the "gV" abbreviation means because I haven't seen it before. I've seen "viventis" or "viv" meaning living, implying the other may be deceased. And I've understood that "rel" means "relict" or widow, but I don't know if this is saying that Maria Mazzaglia is widowed because Ignazio died (which contradicts the gV before his name, or if there's another interpretation... Any help clarifying this would be huge because I'm stuck figuring out which set of parents I should be looking into next for my family tree.
Mille grazie!
