Looking for info on grandparents

Post by Cmonjo622 »

Hi,
I've reached a wall trying to research my father's branch of our family. My Grandfather's name was Andrea Di Maio, born January 30, 1877. We believe he was born in Fiorano Modenese, Modena, but are not 100% on that particular commune. My grandmother was Carmella Giannini, born July 16, 1883, and although we know she was born in Northern Italy, we don't have a location. They both came to the U.S. and married in 1906 in Philadelphia, PA, living there until they both passed. My grandfather passed away on October 14, 1962 and my grandmother on June 22, 1964. Any help or direction you can point me in would be much appreciated. I've tried looking for birth records, but I can't seem to find any that go back that far online.

Thank you!

Hello!
What's the hypothesis of Fiorano based on? Do you have any document about that?
Both names seem to be Southern...
