Mangiameli & Gibilisco in Carlentini

I am looking for birth records for my grandfather, Carmelo Mangiameli (Nov 30, 1908) & his brother Angelo (Nov 5, 1912) who were both born in Carlentini, Sicily. Also, birth & marriage records for his parents, Sebastiano Mangiameli (Jun 18, 1881) & Maria Pistone (Mar 24, 1887). He was born in Carlentini & she was born in Vizzini. They were married in Carlentini, but I don\'t have a date.
 
 My grandmother was born in the US, but her parents & older brother were born in Carlentini. Her parents were Filadelfo Gibilisco (Apr 30, 1881) & Rosaria Sortino (May 4, 1885). Both were born in Carlentini & married there Sep 23, 1905. I believe theirs was a civil ceremony. Her brother Paulo Gibilisco (Feb 8, 1906) was also born in Carlentini.
 
 How do I go about finding any of these records? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

go to www.circolocalabrese.org/resources/letters/index.asp for apprpropriate form letters in Italian language which you will send to the Uffcio di Stato Civile in the respective towns of birth, marriage or death and, perhaps family certificate for each head of household listing family membersd,marriages births and deaths for each family. In all instances you need a full name and date of birth or at least a year of birth and lastly an approximate year of birth., You can go to www.nonsolocap.it and insert town name in upper left under localita. Send self addressed envelope and $5.00 for each document or postal coupons or an international check made out to the Ufficio di Stato Civile. You can send Euro or dollars if yiou wish to take a chance but since you are requesting several documents perhaps a check will dop as well. Peter

Hi Peter,
 
 I have to admit I was surprised to get a response so quickly. I don\'t mean to appear stupid, but I can\'t log on to the first site you gave me. I get a screen that says \"application failed\" whatever that means. The second site is all in Italian, which I don\'t know at all. All it shows is a 5 digit number and the town name. What does this mean?

The www.circolocalabrese.org/resources/letters/index.asp provides for form letters in Italian to the civil registration offices, census offices for documents and the www.nonsolocap.it gives you the postal code (like our zip code) the town name, the province and the region which is useful when mailing the form letters. If you still have difficulty then go to www. Italianancestry and under part 3 you will see form letters which you will click on. Certaionly if you know what you are looking for you will understand despiute the language barrier as your common sense will tell you. Peter
