What are your specific goals? Have you obtained any documentation?
It is best to gather all US documents first before proceeding with Italian records.....if you would like help, provide names, dates and places...

Re: trying to find information on family
I don't know what records you have, but when I started, I went to the Ellis Island website and found some of my family... not all came thru there but some did. I joined a free trial membership on ancestry. com and found many records with my family on it... .census, ship manifest, draft reg.... in my library they have free access to the local vital records in my state.... I found more info there. I also found clues in the local obituaries.... they would list family and parents and where they were born.
Sometimes I would find someone with similar info and work backward. Or I found the kids first... then found the mother who was still using her maiden name.... Often the names were misspelled, or spelled differently in different branches of the same family!
It has taken months, and I am now ready to go into the records halls and write to officials for the records I need to help solve more mysteries.
Good luck!

The most important thing here is to start with what you have... Even though you don't know anybody on this forum...posting it here is step #1.
These people here have been a great help to me & My search for info on my grandparents. They where able to help me confirm what little I knew about my grandparents & their parents... Thanks again to them, I have all the information possible on their voyage here to America & all that was available when they stayed here... They have guided me where to look when I though I had hit a dead end.. This forum is golden for anyone looking for infomation of their past... Thanks again everyone & Good Luck JoyceAnn12 on your genealogy journey..
