Mascia in Chicago--attn: Angela Mascia

Post by peggymckee »

To Angela & others:

While researching a different surname, I came across the following--in Chicago:

Rosa Mascia died Aug 31, 1907 age 10 mo. #10173
Donato Mascia born Dec 8, 1913 #12804
Frank Mascia born Jun 18, 1909 #11320
Vicenza Mascia born Aug 5, 1912 #10443

These are index entries, so I have no other information, but you can get the actual certificates from Cook County. I realize that the relative you are interested in died in 1908 or so, but perhaps these children are related.

Just remembered: This service might work and be cheaper & faster than Cook County. She's helped me.

there are two ways for this
1) 15 dollars each from county clerk, bad idea
2) order the death certificate rolls from the LDS geneology library you can photocopy them

the family history library here in chicago ( wilamete is closed for renovation until at least Sept.) but you can order the reals from salt lake or perhaps from the wilamete people

Dear peggymckee,

Thank you for thinking of my research. I am actually talking with the great nephew of Domenico Mascia and we have lots to talk about.

Also, the Giovanni De Dominicis family in Pittsburgh is another line of the Mascia family I will trace now.

Thanks a bunch!
