Tiger - you should be able to order microfilms from the LDS church to find out who Giuseppe's first wife was. When he married Lucia he had to present the death certificate of his first wife and it will list her name. After you find out her name (1st wife) you should be able to find their (Giuseppe and 1st wife) marriage banns and also the children that were born to them. You should also be able to find all the birth acts for the above listed children. Birth acts will declare father of the child, age, place of residence and his fathers name - the same information will be included for the mother of the child.

Another piece of this big puzzle!

SAPIENZA MARIA October 30, 1911 second arrival (age 21 year of birth 1890 place of birth Belpasso) married with Garozzo Michele (age 26 place of birth Mascali - Sicily) and children Garozzo Filippo (age 4 born in USA) She was in USA from 1903 to 1911..... It matches with the other records.
They where going to the brother Vito in New York (151 Cherry Street??)

Need your help with this manifest....
It seems that Sapienza Rosa (age 22) and Rositta (?) Di Stefano Lucia (age 57) where crossed out from this travel to USA in March 1909....
I'm sure that they are "our" Rosa and Lucia, I don't post the second page of the manifest because there is no other thing....
But why two last names for Lucia????

I think what happened is her name is Lucia Rositta DiStefano and when they wrote it they put Rositta as her last name, realized the mistake and then added DiStefano.

I already have the manifest for Lucia and children on first page of the thread.

We still need Anna's manifest though.

Good Morning to all!

Only a note... In the arrival manifest about Sapienza EUGENIO in March 1921, he declared to leave his mother Di Stefano Lucia in Belpasso.
So, perhaps Lucia returned definetely in Italy, at that time she was about 70 years old, I think she died in Italy.

Found this interesting arrival manifest for a Anna Sapienza May 4, 1927 (age 28 ) , from Belpasso, travelling with her son Antonino ROMEO (age 11) going to the husband/father ROMEO Barbarino in Salem PA. Se was leaving in Italy her sister Domenica Sapienza in Belpasso.

Look at this arrival manifest (october 27, 1920) for her husband ROMEO Barbarino.... married with Anna Sapienza living in Belpasso (Via Terza Retta di Passante n° 141 - Belpasso - Catania) and going to the Brother (sure in law) Sapienza Vito in New York 27 Yones Street!!!
