Furlan is derived from Furlani but the epicenter for this name is in the Friuli-Venezia-Giulia region and is is a reult of the cominglin of the names Furlano, and Furlan which was already documented in 200 AD as Furlanus, Forlanus and lo Furlan formed from the venetian and Friulano which literally mean inhabitant or ogriginally from Friuli. There are currently 4,173 persdons in Italy wioth the surname FURLAN and 75% of these persons are in the Veneto-Friuli region of Italy. Peter
