Cannelongo originated in the Foggia Province of Puglia region. The surname no longer exists in Italy. There are two Cannlongo entries into the USA iin the early 1900's at Ellis Island, NY. If you go to www.infospace.com you can locate 16 persons in the USA with that surname. There may be others in South America, Canada, Australia. The surname is local to the Foggia province na dis not listed in the Italian surname dictionary as an Italian surname but while it is Italian its origin is lost in the mists of time. Peter
