Looking for information on my Grand Uncle born Domenico Antonio Leone in Campobasso, (CB), Molise, Regno d'Italia on 2 Sep 1887. Emigrated to New York at age 11 and lived in West New York, Hudson County, New Jersey where he was known as Dominick Leone. Married to a Russian Jew, who was a nurse, they had a daughter Ruth born about 1918-1919. I believe he died in Oct 1972 in Bergen Cty, N.J.
Of particular interest is the name of his wife which was smeared and unreadable on the 1920 census.

Re: 1920 Census - Leone family
Thanks Biff. I couldn't get his draft card using Family Search since the indexing isn't complete yet and when I located them on the census the wife's name looked like it began with a "Z". The draft card saved the day! I thought I would have the task of going through all of the known Jewish names that begin with a "Z". Thanks again.
Actually, Dominick is my 1C1R not Grand Uncle and finding Gertrude on the SSDI confirmed she is the correct person because their SSNs are consecutive. So now I have her DOB and DOD as well as her first name.

Re: 1920 Census - Leone family
Hello, do you know if Dominick ever had a grand piano Steinway that he would have bought at auction in 1946? Reason for asking is a Dominick Leone in New Jersey donated a Steinway Model B to a college in New Jersey. I am trying to find out if it possilby could be this Dominick Leone. Any help would be appreciated. You can view the piano at this site:
http://earlyaviators.com/eharknes.htm Scroll down halfway and click on the piano. Just found out today after 2.5 yrs that the piano was auctioned in 1946 through Parke/Bernet now Soethby's. There was a plack stating it was donated by Dominick Leone. Could this be him? Any help would be grateful. Cheers
