Can someone enlighten me about how the Country of Italy works? Sorry for being so ignorant with this but, until late, I have had little wonder about it.
In the USA, we have States divided up and each State is in charge of their own laws, bi-laws and government. Of course we have Federal laws and practices we have to follow but, for the most part, we follow State law. Within each State, the land is then divided into Counties, and each County is in charge of their own to run as how they wish. Health care you pay for, and just every day to day stuff.
My question is, how is it in Italy? Is it too, separated into States or counties? Is health care given to the people free or do they too have to pay their own? How is it different from our Government and Federal / State laws? Has anyone lived there and here in the US, and if so, what are the differences? The older I get, the more I feel live I want to live someplace else for a little while and experience all I can in life before I pass. Living there has crossed my mind several times however, I have never been there so, am I living in a fantasy land, hyping it up more then I should? I just feel like the Italian heritage is so flavorful and can be enchanting and would like my children to experience such things too. Thanks for any info on this....
