Looking for information on Rania, Italy

Post by tsacchetti »

I found on Ellis Island's web site that my family entered the United States in 1915. On the website it said that they were from Rania and left from Naples. I can not find any information on Rania and the internet. I would like to know the location and any history on that location. Thanks

No help on Antonietta's death record

possible 1931 Death Certificate from WVa Archives
Birth location, Italy

Antonietta Sacchetti
husband Anthony Sacchetti
father Peter D'Onfrio
mother Filomena Pella (probably Pilla)

edit: correction suggested by member suanj - mother's name is probably Pilla, not Pella
Thank you suanj :D

Here's an Antonio Sacchetti born abt 1889 traveling with a Giovanni D'Onfrio
Antonio headed to NY, Giovanni D'Onfrio headed to WVa
Antonio's wife in Bagnoli Campobasso is Antonietta, he was born in San Donato (same as WWI Card)

interesting 1913 manifest
page 2

residence may have been: Bagnoli del Trigno, a comune in the province of Isernia in the Molise region. It's located about 25 km northwest of Campobasso.

edit: added
Note: have found other folks named Sacchetti on the Ellis Island site from 'San Donato'
forum member suanj :D suggests it may be: San Donato, a village in the comune of Carinola, province of Caserta, Campania region
This San Donato is less than 100 km from Bagnoli del Trigno
