Re: Dominic De Luca
Perhaps familiarity with Italian Genealogy would have sped things up a bit but for now please read the following website:
http://www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwi ... earch.html
There are numerous Domenico De Luca arriving at NYC at Ellisisland.org at the turn of the century or did he sail to Panama and go overland to Pacific in order to sail to California??
Any questions please get back to so that we can direct your inquiries to the correct areas. =Peter=

Re: Dominic De Luca
I think Antonio was my GGF's brother. I heard that my GGF's brother was brought to the old Hospital on West cliff drive after an accident at the Cement plant. He died shortly after. Dominic lived to be 105 years old. I wish I would have learned more from him about family history when he was alive. Im trying to find out the Town in Italy he came from?

Re: Dominic De Luca
If he arrived by ship via Panama canal, where could one find those records?
Re: Dominic De Luca
It should be on a Border Crossing (into the US) record on ancestry. com
Do you know the ship name & date?

Re: Dominic De Luca
All I know is that according to the 1910 census he arrived in US in 1907. Whether he came through Ellis Is. or another route ? yet to be discovered.
Re: Dominic De Luca
Those are his records, thank you. Stil does not list birth place or town of origin that I can see. But I appreciate the info.
Re: Dominic De Luca
Yes your are right about the accident. This was my grandmothers first husband. She was widow very young with 2 young children and pregnant when the accident happen. So yes there is a connection. If you would like any information about Antonio side let me know. I will try to see if I can help you find out what town the brothers were from. Who did your grandfather marry. I know my grandmothers sister married a De Luca too.
Re: Dominic De Luca
If we can't find his ship manifest or naturalization records, you may have to order his social security application.akadeluca wrote:Those are his records, thank you. Stil does not list birth place or town of origin that I can see. But I appreciate the info.
According to this 1950 manifest Domenico De Luca was a US Citizen.
Do you have his naturalization records?

I do not recall my GGF first wife's name, they had 3 children though. Son, Darrol, daughters Eva and Elsie. His first wife died before I was born. He went back to Italy and married again. Brought her back here to Santa Cruz. Her name was Yollanda.
Any other info you find would be appreciated, Thanks again

If this is Domenico's 2nd wife, you may want to also look for her ship manifest (if they were from the same town)
