Re: Angelo Barone
In Italy most records are in the city, town or village of origin.Perhaps if you check his naturalization papers more closely there might be the place in Abruzzi where he was born or someone inthe family knows. Once you find out the name thenyoucan obtain all the information you seek. =Peter=

Re: Angelo Barone
Have you tried parish records here in the US? Information given at the time of the childrens baptism may reveal birth place and baptism of the parents?

Re: Angelo Barone
I have my mother's birth certificate and nothing is mentioned as to where her parents were from. At that time New Castle was a young city with a surge in Italian Roman Catholic population and in need of an Italian Parish. A mission church was established in 1900. My mother was born in 1903 and both of her parents died in 1905 one month apart. My father tried to determine where they were burried thru the church forr several years when I was a young lad and was unsuccessful. Thank you for your time and suggestions.....I only hope some distant relative may come across my posting with further information that we can share....This site has supplied me with much information and I sincerely appreciate all the efforts of those who took an interest.....ever grateful, Topper

Re: Angelo Barone
Thanks Laura, This is my grandfather and grandmother in the 1900
census. They lived in Shenango Township and he was a quarryman who worked in the quarry in New Castle. However, all the names were mispelled and the census taker has their race marked as "I" I suppose for Italian not Indian. My grandmother's name is mispelled as well as the boys. Her name was Carolina, the childrens names were, Robert, Louis, Mary, and Ralph....Thanks for the information and for taking an interest
