Italian Ancestors Carpineto Romano, Sezze, & Naples

Post by pinevalleygirl »

:D Hi all, I'm new to this site. Just wanted to give some surnames I am researching in case anyone has any connection or information.
Robibero, Robibaro from Carpineto Romano Italy and Sezze Italy
Cacciotti from Carpineto Romano Italy (common name but who knows)
Cianci from Naples Italy

Most of the family that came to the U.S. either went through Canada to upstate NY or to NY city. The Cianci's ended up in NJ.

Let me know if you have any info to share.

Thanks!
Chris from NY 8)

Peter,

I have done loads of research. On and off for about 15 years. I have over 100 family members in my tree so far. (This doesn't include my husband's tree.) I am looking to continue the search for ancestors and possibly contemporary family members I have not yet met.

Do you have any info you'd like to share on my surnames?

Thanks!

Christine

Hopes this helps. Info came from the Rochester N.Y. Historic Records site linked below. Remember to use different variations of the last name. Some records may have detailed info of their parents. Best of luck in your research.

Peter,

I had Googled the surnames but I don't believe I ever thought to enter Genealogy with it. Thanks for the suggestion.

It's amazing what you can find on the internet!

Thanks Peter for the Google genealogy search. I, too did the google search but did not include "genealogy" after the surname. thanks for the tip!
Looking for info on surname Vetrone for family tree. Michael or Michele Vetrone I believe is from the area of Casalduni Benevento - immigrated 1890's Michael in 1892 and his wife 1893 Mary or Maria (Beltrano - Bettrani - Beltrani) from same area.

mfjp,

Thanks for your help. Interesting to see possible Italian family members were in Australia.

I'm so glad I found this Italian Genealogy website! I can't wait to go on each day and see if I've been given more clues.

Thanks so much for the Infobel.com site. I've added alot to my journal of notes. Now to see if anyone matches up.

I found a website for my Grandparents hometown Carpineto Romano and sent an email (I translated it into Italian first). The person who responded has actually offered to help. Now I just need to decide which relatives I would like him to research.

Thanks again Peter!

Chris C.

Looking for my family name and ancestral connections... Romaine is the "Ellis Island" version... currently researching a connection to Robibero/ Robibaro/ Robibbaro

I am also researching the Cacciotti's that emigrated from Carpineto to the USA. My husband' grandfather was
Tomasso Pasquale Cacciotti, b 1898 in Sermoneta but always said he was from Carpineto Romana. His father was Ercole.

Tomasso Pasquale came to the USA in 1914. He is related to the Cacciotti's in Ithaca NewYork, Auburn NewYork and Sudbury, Ontario Canada.

I have info to share.
